Guided Tours at the Aardehuizen
In Olst, there is a small community of earthen houses built with sustainable and reused materials such as clay, straw, and… car tires. Whether you dream of owning your own sustainable home, are professionally interested in alternative building methods, or simply want to have a good conversation in a unique setting, you’re more than welcome. Come get inspired and discover what it’s like to build, live, and experience life sustainably.
Every month, a open guided tour
Every first Sunday of the month, we’ll take you on a tour of our neighborhood. You’ll walk past the houses with one of the residents, learn how it all began, and find out why we chose this way of life. Often, you’ll also get to take a look inside a house, so you can experience for yourself what it’s like to be in an Aardehuis. Feel free to ask questions anytime—the best conversations usually happen naturally.

A guided tour of a customized tour
Would you like to visit with a group? In addition to our monthly guided tour, we also offer paid, customized tours for organizations, schools and educational institutions, companies, or as a team-building event.
We’ll tailor the program to your group and your questions, so you’ll have an afternoon that meets your needs—from a brief introduction to an in-depth discussion about sustainable building and communal living.
Curious about the possibilities? Contact us at rondleidingen@aardehuis.nl. We’d be happy to help you find the right solution.
